There are excellent opportunities in the coming months to connect with colleagues across the country on the most important issues facing our field. After the record turnout last month for the AHA Rural Health Care Leadership Conference, the AHA is building on that energy and momentum and making plans for an incredible lineup of leadership gatherings in the coming months.

2023 AHA Annual Membership Meeting, convening April 23-25 in Washington, D.C., will feature a strong program of events and discussions with hospital and health system leaders, lawmakers, media strategists and experts in the field. We’ll be focusing on health care issues and public policies having the biggest effect on patients, health care workers and communities. Check out the AHA Annual Meeting agenda; new speakers are still being added. And be sure to reserve your spot, if you haven’t already. (Early bird rates end March 22.)

Accelerating Health Equity Conference, led by AHA Community Health Improvement and AHA’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, will be May 16-18 in Minneapolis. This conference brings together professionals focused on improving community and population health and those advancing diversity, inclusion and health equity. In addition to plenaries, breakout sessions and preconference workshops, the conference offers community immersion experiences to visit programs developed by local hospitals and community organizations that are addressing social drivers of health. AHA Leadership Summit is July 16-18 in Seattle. The Leadership Summit brings together an amazing mix of health care executives, trustees, clinicians, innovators and other health care experts. Key areas of discussion include delivering better care and greater value; addressing workforce challenges; ensuring financial sustainability; improving the health care consumer experience; and promoting environmental sustainability, among other topics. Compelling speakers and sessions already are booked, with more events being planned. Registration is now open.

In addition, AHA’s professional membership groups also have top-notch conferences and gatherings planned for the coming months, and AHA’s American Organization for Nursing Leadership Annual Conference, May 1-4 in Anaheim, Calif., is always a popular event for nurse leaders.

These meetings and conferences are wonderful opportunities to gather in person and work —together — to protect access to care; strengthen the health care workforce; advance quality, equity and transformation; and ensure our hospitals, health systems, patients and communities are healthy and strong. Hope to see you there.
